I was one of those people who attended the holiday weekend showing of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I enjoyed the movie, but I read the books. My wife did not read the book and was totally bored. The theater was only about half full and several in attendance did not compare it favorably to the Swedish version. The problem with the English language version is that it required the reading of the book first. If the future versions are made, they should try to tell the story in a way that those who have not read the trilogy can follow and enjoy it without having read the books first.
